USB Charging Outlets Are THE TRUTH.

I like it when my phone battery is 100% charged, or at least 90% charged. I like to watch my favorite YouTube personalities and listen to my Audible audio books for hours at a time.  And I NEED POWER.  It’s annoying to have to unplug and move my charging source as I move through the house.

Problem: I crave convenience and I am addicted to the entertainment my phone provides.

Solution: USB Charger Port Outlets!!!!

Post USB

Strategically placed vertical USB Ports located around the house help to eliminate clutter AND provide so much more cord maneuverability. You can charge anything from tablets, smart and mobile phones, gaming devices, e-readers, digital cameras and a host of other electronic devices.

And you know what? We know exactly how to install these bad boys.  It’s magic and we want to share the love.

Cleaning Music…Rocks! Literally.

Cleaning can be…well… you know. But I’ve incorporated a practice that makes it much more entertaining.

Quotation-Female-Imagination-funny-music-Meetville-Quotes-23223

Say what? Yes.  Putting on a high energy play list really helps get the blood flowing so you can slosh through the cleaning tasks and even burn a few more calories while you do it.  My favorites are old school 90s R&B and Hip-hop tunes.  There is nothing like dancing and jamming to Prince while mopping.  It becomes a dance party and your house gets clean!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner 😉

7 Reasons Why You Should Make The Bed

I used to not believe in making the bed in the morning.  “Why make the bed?!” I would proclaim in my adolescence.  “Why make the bed?!” I would mutter while dashing to work in my early career.   I would return home frazzled from an action packed day in each phase of my life to a messy bed and a bedroom that never really quite felt zen.

I carried on this way for years.  Until I met a guy who eventually ended up moving in with me who made the bed every morning.  Like clockwork. And lo and behold. The entire bedroom suddenly felt lighter… I had that same zen sensation that I felt when entering my hotel room after housekeeping had made a visit.  I highly encourage everyone to take the 30 seconds each day to make your bed in the morning.  And here is why:

1. Your room will look 10x better even if the entire floor is covered in clutter. Seriously.  Give it a try.  A made bed makes it better.

2. You can slide into the covers and feel that “ahhhh” sensation instead of frustration and fumbling for the sheets under the bedspread.

3. That clean hotel room feeling is totes amaze.

4. You will feel like a grown up.  Once after the deed is done in the morning, and again every time you walk by the room and see a nice neat bed.

5. You will know if you are missing that one sock because it was hiding underneath the comforter.

6.  You can now put all kinds of stuff that formerly was on the floor, on the couch or some other random place and put it ON THE BED so you can deal with it later.  Say…clean laundry that needs to be folded.

7. You now have a nice surface to lounge on even if you’re not asleep. Curling up with your laptop watch a movie? Sure… I have a made bed.

Not convinced?  Just try it for a week.  Let me know how it goes 😉

Is Speed Cleaning Really A Thing?

YES. Totally.

And let me say that it changed my life.  Before I became obsessed with organization and cleaning, I would agonize over why my house always seems a bit… askew.  Untidy.  Hey… let me be honest… downright sloppy.   I was hopelessly at a loss as to why I couldn’t keep up? After a deep clean…. these steps helped me maintain the “right after the housekeeper” clean for months!

The Bedroom(s) in 3 minutes each

  • Make the bed. I know, I know… it’s just going to get unmade… but pull the sheets and comforter up and straighten the pillows.  That step alone makes rooms seem much more organized.

Speed Cleaning the Bathroom(s) in under 5 minutes each

  • Sprinkle mild abrasive cleanser toilet bowl cleaner around the rim; let sit.
  • Use all purpose cleaner and a microfiber cloth to quickly wipe down the sinks, tub, and shower.
  • Use toilet brush to quickly scrub toilet rim then wipe seat with a separate cleansing cloth or a disinfecting wipe.

Shared Spaces and Common Places in under 15 minutes

  • Pick up the clutter laying around and place them where they go. Clothes into the dirty clothes hamper, Toys gathered and placed in bins in rooms where they can be put away later.
  • Wipe down all surfaces with a microfiber cloth.
  • Stack papers, straighten knick-knacks and straighten pictures.
  • If there are any dishes, put them near the kitchen sink to be washed.

The Kitchen (dun, dun, duuuuunnnnnn!) in 10 minutes

  • Unload the clean dishes, it’s helpful if you have a standard place for each type of dish
  • Rinse and scrub the dishes in the sink, then follow with dishes around the sink
  • Spray your microfiber cloth with all purpose cleaner and wipe down all surfaces in the kitchen

Those few things make a huge difference in daily maintenance of the house.
